JOSH: (early to mid-20s) A classically handsome actor who is filled with self-loathing after he blew his big shot at fame by getting fired from a role on a popular TV soap opera. His drive to succeed as an actor means more to him than anything, but the realization of admitting who he is ends up having more to do with his need for love rather than finding himself as an actor.

WILL: (early to mid-20s) A gay bartender who has held a secret inside for all his young years, and now he desperately needs to be himself finally. Still, the person he projected to the world in his youth was that of a regular guy, not the passionate man who was never able to express his love for the person he had always loved. He now knows he must find a way to let his best friend know who he really is, and who he knows in his heart that his friend is, too, but he is afraid their past bond together as high school best friends will now make that all seem false and untrue.

TOM WALTERS: (late 30s to mid-40s) Thin and has the look of an ’80s used car salesman. Undeniably the Baltimore independent filmmaker king uses his gifts humorously, seeing the beautiful dirt that lies between the skid marks of Baltimore’s wicked deviants, or by using the hapless unknowing Baltimore lunatics in starring film roles, who never knew they were part of his entertaining running joke that plays into what everyone wants to believe about Baltimore. But somehow this time, he has Hollywood behind him for his latest film, and the pressure is on. He knows he must get everything together perfectly to make his biggest film happen the right way, and he has no time to worry about the egos of all the people who don’t care about him or anything he is trying to do. They all just want to be part of a Hollywood movie, and he knows it.

DETECTIVE GARRETT: (Mid to Late 40s) A tough veteran Baltimore homicide detective who has the worst arrest record in the department. He is too meticulous and conscientious to want to put the wrong people in jail, and he works hard to solve the cases that bother him, which are usually overlooked. He works against the system to not just make arrests that give the BPD accountability, but he also cares about getting murderers off the streets.

BEN (Mid 30s to Mid 40s) Dark and heavy-set, balding, superstar film drag queen. In character, she is bold and unashamed of her wicked sense of inner confidence and self-worth that sets her on a pedestal all her own, far above any drag queen before or after who thinks they can steal her throne. But all her glory lies within her brilliant disguise, and no one knows how unfamous she is when she is without it, except the actor who created her, Ben. Ben never knew the impact his character had on the world during his biggest film, until he heard how amazing she was from an everyday Baltimore cab driver.

IDA (Late 50s -Mid 60s) Caucasian female. The self-made, successful, unfiltered owner of the most popular dive bar in Baltimore. Ida has been running the Club for over 30 years and is highly liked and respected. Nothing in this town surprises her; she’s seen it all. She knows just about everyone in this city. Just about everyone in this town has at some point had drinks in her bar. She's completely fearless, and even though she’s in her golden years, if she catches you stealing from her bar, she doesn’t care how young or tough you are; she will punch you hard and probably knock you out. She treats all her staff like family and deeply cares about their well-being, but is often firm when she feels they are not performing their jobs correctly.

ELIJAH: (Late 40s -50s) African American male  – Thin, conservatively dressed, working class, intelligent, carefully guarded regarding his trust for police officers, concerned regarding the investigation of his daughter’s murder, but not overly optimistic about them doing anything other than pretending that they are finally going to put effort into any real investigative work on the case. He’s used to the same song and dance and fully expects them to do exactly what they have always done, nothing.

SARAH (Late 40s-50s) African American female – Jamaican accent. A robust, full-figured, working-class woman with a kind and expressive face, she is quick to become emotional and seems troubled about the lack of effort the police have put into solving her daughter’s murder over the past four years. Although she is skeptical that any progress will be made, she is determined to put pressure on the detective so that this time they will finally take action.

ALICIA: (early 20s) African American female. She is an intelligent and beautiful young woman who doesn’t realize the importance she truly holds in life.  She’s a well-read, naïve bookworm who knows way more about scientific mass and atomic weight than she does about men. Her insecurity leads to poor choices with men. Her men are routinely liars, cheaters, and players who don’t deserve someone like her. She has devoted friends whom she trusts and listens to. They constantly try to make her realize how important she is in life, but she’s too insecure to accept their words fully. She has fought very hard to earn good grades and succeed in college, but she has no idea that soon it will take everything within her to fight for her life.

TEX: (20s-30s) Male Caucasian. Handsome – Rugged - A hick truck driver who appears to be dumb as mud, but he’s just playing dumb – Like many, he just wants to be an actor in a Hollywood movie, and he is willing to be as dirty as he needs to be to get the part.

STORM: (30s to 40s) An African American hilarious outwardly gay man - Brashly honest - Quick witted - Hugely famous without having to prove it - Usually, the main instigator of all the trouble his victims create for themselves- If Storm doesn’t like you, you are immediately out of the club – His wit is usually biased on honest observation - Even his victims soon realize when he pegs them for exactly who they think they are or who they are pretending to be.

CAPTAIN BISHOP: (50s-60s) Head of a tired, overworked squad of Baltimore Homicide Detectives, he has worked his job 9 to 5  for many years. He doesn’t care about fixing anything or working with his squad to do anything different other than what he knows is expected of him to keep his job, and all he needs from his detectives is that they follow the same rules and do nothing more or less than he does to keep their jobs.

LEX: (20s-early 30s) Caucasian male.  Handsome - Jock type - Comes from money - Super popular - Deludes himself into thinking he is a gifted visual artist. – An alpha-male player who appears to care. His protective overreach becomes psychologically abusive – He has jealous insecurities regarding his inflated opinion of himself – He is vindictive, egotistical, and womanizing, but still manages to convince many vulnerable ladies that they would be lost without him.

PATRICK: (20s to 40s) Caucasian male.  Handsome – Twisted - Dirty player – A hopeful actor who is part of Walters’ “In crowd.”  He seems like he’s always on your side, seemingly sincere, and you never have a clue he’s talking smack behind your back until it’s too late. He will do whatever’s necessary to eliminate his competition and will ruin anyone. Even if he likes you, he will not hesitate to poison the waters to get you out of the way.
