The Producers of the Upcoming Feature Film - LOWBALL - A Baltimore True Crime Serial Killer Thriller Set in the 1980s - Will Hold Open Call Casting in Baltimore City on Sept 6-7, 2025, at 3 W 23rd Street, Baltimore, MD 21218

In the late 1980s, former soap star Josh Hamlin's obsession with landing a role led him to one of Baltimore's most infamous dive bars. As he tries to get a role in what will soon be the biggest film to come out of Baltimore of the decade, he's oblivious to the chilling reality that two serial killers are lurking in his inner circle. Based on actual events, Josh's desperation for fame turns into a fight for survival as he navigates a treacherous world of twisted desires and deadly secrets.

LOWBALL is not just a film; it’s a journey back in time to 1980s Baltimore. The flashback scenes of Lowball, set in 1983, were shot in Baltimore County in mid- October 2024 -Starring: Jason Marley Rain, Grace Fluharty, Saige Smith and Corbin Ford - The central part of LOWBALL, which is based on actual events that took place in Baltimore in 1987, is scheduled to begin principal photography in Baltimore City soon, likely, with name talent attached. Baltimore native Scribe-Helmer Steven Gillilan has been working on the script and production for over four years. Associate Producer, Johnny Alonso has been working behind the scenes with Gillilan almost from conception, when about 4 years ago Gillilan called him up, so excited he could barely catch his breath as he paced the floor of his Mt. Vernon apartment to tell his friend, “I’m writing a script called LOWBALL, a true crime thriller set in Baltimore in 1987. It’s the murder story we all knew about back then, but it got swept under the rug. Are you in or out?!” And without skipping a beat, Alonso replied, “In, Paison! 1000% IN!!!” Eden’s newest addition to the production staff is Co-Producer Elle Meredith, who brings her artistic talents to ensure LOWBALL's locations look authentic to 1987 and help bring period-appropriate branding into the mix. These showcase Charm City’s favorite products, universally cementing their status as a Baltimore tradition and helping them become a national pastime. Holding everything together is Gillilan’s longtime Executive Assistant, Dina Chao-Johnson. She is deeply involved in all aspects of LOWBALL. Dina ensures everything runs smoothly from pre-production to post-production, delivering the job brilliantly. Eden Production’s casting department, headed by Josie Peterson and Associate Casting Director, Stephen Vrattos, has currently received over 19,000 actor submissions from all around the world, but finally, now Eden Productions is shining the spotlight on the City of Baltimore’s Acting Talent, and all who want a chance to be in our cast.
